Selection of buyers for participation in B2B digital event in fashion

Objective: Following a similar project from the yachting sector, EasyLink was again asked to find potential buyers in the Czech Republic for B2B digital event with Italian manufacturers. This time the project was related to the fashion industry and the target was 1-2 buyers. EasyLink was assigned the project at very short notice, only a week before the event.
Results: EasyLink consultant screened the in-house database of possible targets and selected the companies to be approached. Three companies expressed serious interest in the online meeting via a digital platform. Due to time constraints, only one company eventually participated in the event.

Japanese musical instruments company requiring a check into care label requirements for branded promotional t-shirts

Objective: The client was planning to export branded T-shirts and caps to various worldwide markets, including the Netherlands. The company needed to ascertain whether their care labels based would be compliant with local legal requirements, and if not, then what points must be revised or added.
Results: Our research of local regulations and information from the national standards authority, further verified by analysis of procurement tenders published by government agencies and based on a product safety document confirmed that the company's care label complied with requirements.

Italian hosiery brand targets Czech and Slovak markets

Objective: Following our previous project carried out in 2012 an italian company approached EasyLink again and asked to conduct a market research into the hosiery products segment.
Results: Our team provided a targeted market report and compiled an initial list of 45 companies, out of which 34 entities were shortlisted by the client and subsequently approached by our consultant. 6 companies expressed interest in meeting our client. However, before drawing up an itinerary Covid-19 pandemic hit and the personal meetings were cancelled. Further business discussion on possible ways of collaboration were therefore moved to the virtual space or has been postponed until the coronavirus situation calms.

Bulgarian designer of children’s boutique clothing meets potential importers in the Czech Republic

Objective: Following their visit to Poland in early 2019 (arranged by EasyLink), the client was ready to expand their presence in Central Europe, this time considering the Czech Republic. The trip was planned for late January 2020 just in time for the client to be able to present their new autumn/winter 20-21 collection. In the identification stage, it was essential to pay close attention to the price range of existing product portfolios of potential partners.
Results: EasyLink consultant in the Czech Republic identified 17 companies involved in import, distribution, and wholesale of children´s clothing. Subsequently, the consultant called each of these companies in order to identify relevant managers and establish direct communication with them. Following the introductory call each company representative was provided comprehensive information via e-mail. The mailing included an introductory email, profile prepared by the consultant in the Czech language, and company materials provided by the client. Meetings were arranged with two companies ready to discuss the proposed partnership opportunity. Additionally, direct communication was mediated with the leading e-commerce platform in Central and Eastern Europe to discuss becoming a marketplace partner.

UK manufacturer of specialist clothing for the army & police/ security forces looking for customers in CZ and PL

Results: The Czech and Polish EasyLink consultants approached over 50 selected prospect companies, to present the client's portfolio and their business intentions for the local markets. This effort resulted in a business trip with B2B 5 meetings in CZ and PL.

Distributor search in CZ for a Bulgarian producer of casual fashion

Objective: A Bulgarian producer of ready-to-wear casual fashion for young women and men commissioned EasyLink to search for partners (distributors/wholesalers) in the Czech Republic.
Results: EasyLink identified 27 companies in the Czech market to be contacted as potential cooperation partners for the company. The client then decided not to approach 4 companies and we enlarged the pool of prospects and added 11 companies to total 34 potential partners. Given fierce competition in the fashion industry posed by multinational fast fashion chains (e.g. H&M, Zara, Mango) and the emerging and rapidly growing online players (AboutYou, Zalando, Answear, Zoot etc.), feedback from most prospects was rather reserved and not too optimistic. One company suggested to be re-approached by the client in a 6-9 months' time while the rest opted not to pursue the opportunity any further. The most frequently cited reasons for rejection were unknown brand, higher prices and unwillingness to add a brand in the portfolio.

Bulgarian childwear looking for a distributor in Poland

Objective: EasyLink first guided the client to preparing high quality English language website and catalogue to be distributed to prospective partners. When this task was completed and the client ready for international expansion, EasyLink compiled a list of 24 companies for direct contact.
Results: In the second stage the consultant called each of these companies in order to identify relevant managers and establish direct communication with them. Following the introductory call each company representative was provided comprehensive information via e-mail. The managers were given a deadline by which to deliver their final statement. We managed to arrange meetings with 2 major distributors of children clothing (one in Warsaw and the other in Lodz). After the visit the client came back to us saying they were happy with both meetings, there are opportunities, they found also some niche business during the talks, so now they will send quotations, new collections, etc. and they are positive that they will start business in Poland.

French manufacturer of controlled atmosphere modules for preservation and transport of fresh plant products

US used clothing company exploring business potential in Poland

Objective: The client wished to determine the feasibility of entering the Polish market, as well as to identify impediments such as government regulations and significant competitors, then to identify and contact potential wholesale partners (or possibly end customer retailer chains), if their volume requirements are sufficient.
Results: In stage one, an initial list of 29 potential contacts meeting the client’s criteria was compiled (importers/distributors/retail chains). In stage two, all of the above companies were approached. Five (5) of them expressed interest in establishing direct contact with the client. Total import of second-hand clothing to Poland exceeded 60 thousand tons in 2016. The most important suppliers were other European countries, among which the largest volumes were imported from Germany – 29%, UK – 28%, the Netherlands – 19%, Scandinavian countries – 14%.

Russian market intelligence and export develoment for Italian nightwear and underwear producer

Objective: This was an extended export development project where we started by market research to understand the market structure, trends, key players, and to identify possible routes to markets and be able to advise our client on required strategic steps forward. Further stages of the project were to create an initial list of prospective partners, approach to determine their qualification and interest, and if feasible arrange a market visit with 1:1 meetings, and provide all needed in-market support.
Results: The client made two visits to Russia: one to a trade fair held in September 2018 in Moscow where he met some of the companies from our list. We then contacted all major distributors and e-commerce companies and arranged 3 meetings during the client's second visit in November 2018. Our consultant accompanied the client to all 3 meetings to provide all the necessary support and also compiled a summary from all meetings and strategy of next steps to be taken by the client in the target market.

Italian leader in luxurious knitwear attracting prospects from PL, CZ and HU for an investment opportunity in Moldova

Objective: Our client, a leading knitwear producer has a production company with around 200 employees in Moldova which is offered as investment to fashion brands/knitwear producers in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. EasyLink was commissioned to select 10 prospects in each country and present them the investment opportunity.
Results: EasyLink talked to the relevant textile associations to gather advice as to what companies to target and listed 10+ potential partners in each country. We talked to the senior managers (managing directors, CEOs, purchasing managers, business (development) managers) of the companies and discussed the investment opportunity with them. We provided detailed materials containing data on the client's production capacities, machine specification and financial data. One company in Hungary wants to further explore the opportunity and agreed to visit the production plant in Moldova and discuss the deal in detail. The plant visit has been scheduled for early 2018 with a follow up meeting with the company's CEO in Hungary.

Results: EasyLink took the challenge of researching both textile recycling / waste sorting companies and importers and distributors of wiping rags and second-hand clothes. We approached over 30 companies and arranged 8 meetings.

Results: EasyLink identified and contacted over 45 suitable prospects and arranged 10 meetings at a central location (Sofitel Hotel in Budapest). Discussion with potential partners allowed the client to evaluate the competitor landscape and assess its opportunities on the Hungarian market. Follow-up calls with all companies met performed by EasyLink helped the client streamline communication and focus its specific business strategies in Hungary.

Results: During the two days spent in Prague during the Buyers-Sellers Meetings organized by EasyLink for Enterprise Mauritius, the second trade mission of Mauritian exporters to the Czech Republic in modern history, our client met with excellent response from the market and an unusually high number of 14 buyers have requested a meeting – suppliers of professional uniforms as well as advertising agencies supplying customized clothing. All meetings were held in the Hilton Prague Hotel. EasyLink also provided interpretation at meetings where managers of Czech companies did not speak English or French. The first sample order was received by the client from the major Czech producer of professional uniform only a couple weeks after the event.

Results: EasyLink was tasked to review multiple sales channels such as wholesalers and distributors, direct sales to retail and department stores and online shops, local fashion brands. EasyLink consultant in the Czech Republic prepared a market report including a detailed market insight and identified 34 companies as potential partners. Objective: The project was specified as to 1) Identify and evaluate potential partners in Russia, 2) Gather intelligence through research and interviews in order to provide a greater understanding of the market, and 3) Organise a meeting programme with the best prospects. Results: Following delivery of in-depth market research and identification of potential partners, the client agreed to visit Russia at the time of an industry trade show, to meet personally with shortlisted prospects. A total of 9 meetings were arranged, 5 of which at the trade show. The client was "extremely happy" with the results, coming out with 4 companies who would be good partners. Distributor search for a manufacturer of protective apparel in Switzerland

Objective: EasyLink's task was to identify a suitable distributor on the Swiss market of personal protective apparel and equipment i.e shortlist and select 35 companies relevant and active in the sector with the split twenty end customers and fifteen distributors. The main objective of the project was to obtain basic information on the conditions and structure of the Swiss protective apparel market.
Results: EasyLink consultant in Switzerland browsed a database of over 100 companies (including end customer and distributors) and identified 35 most relevant companies. These companies were approached by phone and company materials were sent in German to the managers. Three companies agreed to meet the client and two companies wished to maintain contact for a meeting later in 2016.

Exploring the fashion scene in the Czech Republic

Objective: A Northern Irish client was looking to source garments and potentially long-term partnerships with local designers and commissioned EasyLink to provide an overview of top Czech designers and arrange meetings with selected parties.
Results: Based on the requirements provided by the client, EasyLink provided a longlist of 23 designers for the client’s perusal. The client chose 7 designers they were interested in the most and EasyLink arranged meetings with 6 of them, including with renowned ateliers such as Katerna Geiselrova, Odivi or Pavel Brejcha. EasyLink also arranged for the client to be able to attend the Prague Fashion Week Show and recommended the client to visit selected multi-brand stores that offered sample products of the chosen designers.

Lithuanian fashion producer looking for partners in Hungary and Romania

Objective: The client is one of the biggest jersey manufacturers in the Baltics region with almost 100 year history. The company exports to many European countries and wishes to expand to Hungary and Romania.
Results: The EasyLink consultants in Hungary and Romania were tasked with identification of suitable potential partners from among multi-brand stores and chains for clothing, holdings of different single brand and multi-brand shops/ shop chains, distributors and agents of clothing of multiple brands and online shops offering clothing of multiple brands. Both markets proved to be quite challenging in terms of strong competition posed by a high number of established well known multinational brands already present. Our consultants listed over 50 companies in each of the markets. The client shortlisted 26 prospects in Hungary of which 2 companies expressed their interest in meeting the client. EasyLink prepared a detailed market insight for the client in order to substantiate the somewhat poorer result in terms of the number of meetings arranged. We prepared an overview of all shopping malls in Hungary (mainly Budapest) and listed all brands/single-brand shops present on the market to provide a picture about competition. We also described the purchasing habits of Hungarian consumers gathered from major opinion poll agencies. We also listed the current Hungarian fashion designers and major fashion events annually organized in Hungary. Our Hungarian consultant accompanied the client during their market visit and provided all the necessary in-market support (recommendation of hotels, taxi services, etc.). An even higher number of companies was approached in Romania and the client subsequently met with 5 potential partners.

Lithuanian manufacturer of base layer underwear seeking partners in the Czech Republic and Hungary

Objective: EasyLink was approached by a major Lithuanian producer with a request to identify and approach qualified distribution partners in the Czech Republic and Hungary for their range of thermal and functional underwear and prepare a meeting programme for the company’s market visits in December 2014.
Results: EasyLink prepared initial lists of potential distribution partners. The pool of prospects included major retail chains with sports clothing and equipment (running, cycling, skiing, fitness), major wholesalers of sports clothing and equipment, major retailers/wholesalers of outdoor and camping clothing and equipment (hiking, climbing) and major online shops. EasyLink prepared reports for both markets including general information about the two countries, major economic indicators and recommendations for conducting business with Czech and Hungarian counterparts. The report contained a brief demographic probe into the number of active sportsmen and habits of people when it comes to sports and leisure time. It also included an overview of the functional underwear sector listing all major local and international brands present in the market and profiles of all potential partners (including negative companies whose comments were valuable in providing the client with some additional intelligence about the market). EasyLink identified 42 prospects in the Czech Republic and 41 in Hungary. 3 meetings were arranged in the Czech Republic (2 were with major wholesalers of skiing/cycling clothing and equipment) and 6 in Hungary. EasyLink provided the client with a detailed meeting itinerary including contact details, exact (GPS) locations, travel instructions, maps and the like. The client was happy with the outcome of the meetings and wishes to again use EasyLink’s services in early 2015 to target Slovenia and Slovakia.

Strengthening exports to Germany - lingerie and underwear

Objective: An important Eastern European producer of lingerie has had some presence in Germany but found the potential of the market largely unexploited. EasyLink was approached with a request to conduct an in-depth review of the market structure and to identify a small number of prospective partners with key competencies for brand promotion and product distribution.
Results: EasyLink conducted research into companies involved in the distribution of bodywear / underwear / lingerie in the German market. Our initial list included 104 companies and once compiled we further analysed their activities in order to distinguish the various categories the companies fell into. We then sorted all companies by importance and excluded retail companies, contract manufacturers and companies promoting their own brands only. This gave us a final list of 33 companies to contact. In the first stage, we approached companies classified as manufacturers/wholesalers, then wholesalers and last but not least intermediaries (agents) and purchasing groups.

Partner search for a manufacturer of lingerie in Poland

UK’s leading brand house for contemporary men's wear meets Polish partners

Objective: The company operates stores in the UK and Ireland, and supplies independent retailers and department stores worldwide. Their managers wished to verify market potential and route to market and identify alternative partners in retail who could offer better exposure and a more proactive approach and broader coverage (distributors, other shop-in-shop concepts, networks of retailers).
Results: The sales volume of garment and shoes in Poland reached PLN 29 billion (EUR 7.1 billion) in 2011; it is estimated to grow by 6.3% in 2012. Our interviews with market experts suggested that it was much easier to introduce women’s wear brands compared to men’s wear on the Polish market. Over 10 foreign brands of men’s clothing have been recently trying to enter the market through international multi-brand distribution networks. Altogether 29 companies were approached and evaluated by the consultant, and meetings were scheduled with the top prospects.

EasyLink arranges a successful market visit for a U.S. yarn trader

EasyLink is commissioned to arrange a series of highly targeted meetings in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In addition to one company the client wishes to particularly meet (Neograph, the key security paper mill in the Czech Republic), EasyLink is asked to schedule appointments with decision makers in the purchase & technical departments of companies in the security paper, paper and cardboard industries, food industry (production of powders - milk, cheese, supplements) as well as manufacturers of isolation material/foam rubber, and potential intermediaries among suppliers of conveyor belts.
Results: EasyLink prepared initial (long) lists of 42 Czech and 27 Slovak companies matching the client’s criteria. Based on further communication with the client 17 Czech and 13 Slovak top prospects were identified and approached. In preparation for communication with Neograph, a special strategy containing very persuasive arguments on why to talk with a competitive supplier was developed with the client. During his four-day visit to both countries the client held meetings with 4 companies in the Czech Republic (Neograph plus a major paper producer, one of the largest dairy manufacturers, and a supplier of components for logistics, manipulation and transport), and 3 entities in Slovakia (a supplier of conveyor belts and splicing materials, one of the leading manufacturers of dairy products, and a distributor of industrial screens).

U.S. manufacturer of spandex fibres wishes to expand into Slovakia

Results: The EasyLink consultant in Slovakia identified and approached 29 pre-selected companies to present the client and probe the companies' interest in partnership. EasyLink in fact contacted all knitters and weavers operating in Slovakia. Because the Slovak market is rather small, over 90% of local production is exported, mostly to other EU countries. In-depth study of the Czech textile & apparel market

Objective: EasyLink was commissioned by the Embassy of India to explore the Czech textile and apparel market and deliver a professional in-depth business report providing detailed and valuable information on the market size and structure, key players (buyers, competitors, partners), market trends, opportunities and challenges as well as in-depth analysis and key recommendations.
Results: In preparation of this close to 70-page report, we combined a multitude of resources and methods - primary resources such as interviews with market players and experts, field research and store checks as well as secondary resources (specialized publications, legislation, official reports, trade registries, third-party reports, subscription-based company directories and media archives). Our findings show the Czech textile and apparel sector has undergone major restructuring and had to re-focus its core activities towards technical textiles, special textile products/clothes or interior textiles. The combined turnover of technical textile producers greatly exceeds the turnover of apparel manufacturers (USD 2,300 million versus USD 400 million).

Market research of the retail network of men’s clothing in Moscow and Kiev

Objective: A Turkish producer of men’s clothing and scarves commissioned EasyLink to prepare a detailed study of the retail network pertaining to the client’s products in Moscow (Russia) and Kiev (Ukraine).
Results: EasyLink prepared 2 final reports, about a 50-page report per country (findings obtained mainly through desk research and presented in MS Word format), covering e.g. purchasing power, distribution channels and overview of outlets and stores, fashion market data and customer profiles and behaviour. The consultants also carried store checks and interviewed store owners/top managers (6-8 per country); findings obtained during this part of the project were presented in MS PowerPoint format. EasyLink’s consultants in Russia and Ukraine then travelled to Istanbul to present their findings and participate in strategic evaluation of the project and to recommend the course of action for the client.

Family-owned textile wholesaler from the U.K. seeks customers in Poland

Evaluating distributors of golf clothing and equipment in the Czech Republic

Objective: A U.K. company was looking for a distribution partner for its range of men’s and women’s golf clothing – a company already selling sports clothing, equipment or golf products into retail sports outlets and/or golf pro-shops/clubs. As part of the work, we were asked to verify the most direct route for clothing into the Czech golfing community.
Results: We identified and approached 14 companies already involved in distribution of golf clothing and equipment. We provided their top management with brochures so they could evaluate the client’s product range in detail. Most companies operate one or more retail stores and import and distribute one or more brands of golf clothing and/or golf equipment. Interviews with the prospects confirmed that the Czech golf market is rather small and saturated (17-19 thousand end customers). The consultant prepared a detailed two-day itinerary consisting of 4 appointments with companies that expressed interest in discussing potential cooperation. Two of the keen prospects were the leading Czech distributors.

Preparing a database of qualified agents in Romania

Objective: After our recent project done on behalf of one of the leading Czech suppliers of athletic gear we were requested by this client to search for prospective contractors for production of sports jackets and pants. The prospective partners were to meet a number of criteria – be already producing pants and jackets, have a capacity to produce at least 20,000 pairs of pants and 10,000 jackets annually and have experience with certain materials (coated nylon, 100% cotton, fleece and elastic technical materials).
Results: EasyLink identified a pool of prospective contractors meeting the required criteria and keen to collaborate and presented the client with their detailed profiles including filled questionnaires confirming their qualification and capabilities.

Objective: In the fall of 2003 EasyLink received an order for search and verification of prospective agents and/or distributors of flame retardant fabrics for interior furnishings. Our client, a German producer of EU-accepted flame retardant polyester for interior furnishings, wished to find a partner in the Czech Republic that either had a business supplying the contractor sector (offering goods for hotels/restaurants/cinemas) or acted as an interior designer. The client also provided us with a list of 11 companies that he wished not to be contacted.
Results: Our Access database included verified company details of 25 prospects across various segments related to our client’s business, and of different sizes and focus. The client found our report “highly professional and living up to all expectations.”
